Happy National Volunteer Week!

Our many committed volunteers make the work we do in our community possible. In honour of National Volunteer Week we wanted to highlight two outstanding volunteers:
Diane Cooke has been volunteering with Investing in Children for years. From our Kids Power Conference, to Book Camp London and to Family Literacy Evenings, Diane is always willing to help out. Her love for children, dedication to the community and infectious personality is noticed by everyone who meets her. We look forward to working with Diane for years to come.
Western student Mallory Sullivan has been a staple in our office this year. She visits every single week to help us with whatever project we're working on. Mallory’s positive attitude, strong work ethic and friendly smile have brought so much to our work environment. Mallory is graduating at the end of the month and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
“Volunteers don’t just do the work, they make it work.”
- Carol Petit
Family Literacy

April's dinosaur-themed Family Literacy Nights are in full swing. Fun activities help families recognize that there are many ways of developing literacy beyond reading and writing.
We're visiting eight schools in the Thames Valley District School Board this month including Lord Elgin, Victoria and Princess Elizabeth. These events are only made possible through the help of our volunteers from the University of Western Ontario, local high schools and the community.
