Family Literacy and Math Events
Since 2005, Investing in Children has partnered with elementary schools to provide Family Literacy and Math Events to children in grades JK- 3.
Each event includes approximately 10 - 12 hands-on activity stations that promote parent/guardian and child engagement. We attempt to embed the Science of Reading, as well as the current Ministry of Education math stands into each topic. Many stations/activities include social and emotional engagement and STEAM learning where possible. Each activity is matched with a storybook in an attempt to show parents the learning connections. Information station cards with instructions are provided at each station/ activity which is facilitated by volunteers when possible. All promotional materials, make-and-take activity materials as well as healthy snacks, and door prizes are all provided by Investing in Children. All we need you to do is to help with the promotion of the event and to set up tables for us. Each event base cost is $1000 (some surcharges may apply) and is a perfect fit for PRO grants or PIF funding through your Home and School Councils.

Our fall 2024 theme is The Best Me I Can Be.
The winter session theme is A Whole Bunch of Robert Munsch.
The spring session is Exploring the Enchanted Forest.
