To date, more than 600 young people between grades 7-10 have celebrated learning how to play guitar, as part of our FREE Youth Guitar Program!
Over a 10-week period, students learn to play guitar without experiencing any concerns or barriers regarding costs of the guitar or the cost of lessons. Not only do our students learn the basics of playing guitar via an inclusive, collaborative approach, but they are also able to take the guitar home to practice in between lessons! The program is taught by London singer/songwriter Saveria (who in February 2019 won CTV’s The Launch and appeared on American Idol in February 2020) This popular program is very much in demand!
Investing in Children greatly appreciates the support of the Ontario Arts Council and the Government of Ontario for their generous support of this program!

“My son really loved the whole experience, he is so happy to have the opportunity to learn how to play the guitar he even practices at home. Before the class started he was unsure about playing guitar, but now he is empowered and would love to keep learning. - Guitar Student Parent
“I am very grateful to Investing in Children because my son had an opportunity to attend the free guitar for youth program. It was his first guitar class and because of the impact left by the instructor, he now has a passion for playing the guitar. He would love to continue with this program, especially seeing that there aren't any guitar classes in London that fit within our budget. My son is so grateful for this program and hopes that it continues. Music captures kids' attention and imagination and, as it turns out, has a huge impact on my child's body and mind and self-esteem. Playing guitar and listening to a beat can shift a kid's mood, help him cooperate and express emotions. Playing guitar also helps my son to stay away from violent video games. The cost of playing a musical instrument is very expensive and not everybody can afford it like myself. Thank you for giving my son the opportunity to follow his dream.” - Guitar Student Parent
